The Bears were pinned back on their own 3-yard line. First snap of the game. Tyson Bagent dropped into his own end zone and looked for Zavion Thomas, isolated to the right.
Thomas hesitated. The Titans secondary froze. The pocket closed fast around Bagent, who let the ball go short. The receiver came back for it, kicked into gear, and raced down the sideline.
97 yards. Touchdown. Six seconds in.
Chicago won 24-15 in Nashville on Sunday night in the teams’ final preseason game.

16 of 17, and a backup making a case
Bagent finished 16 completions from 17 attempts for 208 yards and two touchdowns. The Bears’ No. 2 quarterback did lose a fumble on a botched run, but that stat line is hard to argue with.
Zavion Thomas was making his preseason bow. The third-round rookie piled up 140 yards on five catches and added a 39-yard punt return. He was the third-fastest player at the 2026 Combine. It showed.
Maurice Alexander caught Bagent’s second touchdown pass and ended the night with seven receptions for 50 yards, the highest total in the game. Roschon Johnson added a 3-yard rushing touchdown in the third quarter, then Cairo Santos nudged the lead out to 24-9 with a field goal. The Bears finish the preseason at 2-1.
Three drives, three field goals, one roster spot
On the Tennessee side, Cam Ward and Mitch Trubisky were rested. That left Will Levis to start, with Sunday cuts looming. He played the whole first half and led three drives to field goals. Three. Not a touchdown in sight.
Joey Slye nailed all three attempts, including a 56-yarder, his fifth make from 50 yards or more this preseason.
The Titans’ only touchdown came with 3 minutes 50 left, on D’Ernest Johnson’s 9-yard run. He celebrated with the “Choppa City Juke”, a nod to Chris Johnson. By then the game had long since been decided.
