Atletico Madrid have an agreement with Juventus for Jonathan David, per Fabrizio Romano. A loan, with an option to buy attached.
Atletico will pick up more than half of the Canadian’s salary for the duration. That single line had been holding everything up for days, and it is now settled.
David said yes some time ago. Paperwork permitting, this could be finished within hours.

He walked into Turin last summer on a free from Lille, the sort of deal clubs boast about. A proven forward, nothing paid up front.
Then came the season. Six goals and four assists across 35 Serie A appearances, from a man signed to lead the line. Nobody in Turin needed a spreadsheet to see the problem.
Juventus have been trying to move him on for weeks. The window closing gave them the leverage they lacked.
Both clubs get what they need, for now
Atletico take an international striker who already understands what a top-five league demands, and they take him without committing a transfer fee. If it works, the option is sitting there.
Juventus shed salary and free up a shirt in attack. They also now have to replace him before the window closes, which is its own problem.
For David, southern Europe gets a second go. The Metropolitano is not a patient place for a centre-forward.
