Gone After One Catch
Justin Jefferson played one meaningful snap before his day ended. The Vikings’ star receiver hurt his left ankle on a 10-yard catch late in Minnesota’s opening drive, walked off under his own power, and never returned.
He spent part of the second quarter on the sideline in his helmet, still hoping to go back in, before heading to the locker room for good. Minnesota won anyway, beating Tampa Bay 23-16 on the road.

O’Connell Won’t Know More Until Monday
“He tried to work through it, got close (to returning) a couple times. Ended up being ruled out,” Vikings coach Kevin O’Connell said after the game. “We’ll evaluate him more Monday.”
Jefferson finished with two catches for 32 yards, a quiet line for a two-time first-team All-Pro who came in with 13 catches for 179 yards and two touchdowns through three weeks. He hadn’t missed a game since 2023, when a hamstring injury cost him seven.
His exit came on the same afternoon Kyler Murray made his own return from a concussion. Minnesota also lost tight end Josh Oliver to a bicep injury and cornerback Charles Demmings to a hamstring problem, with both set for further evaluation alongside Jefferson.
