NBA: Spurs-Pelicans games in Paris and Manchester sell out

One million hands in the air

Four months out, and there is not a seat left. The NBA confirmed on Tuesday morning that both of its European regular-season games between the San Antonio Spurs and the New Orleans Pelicans are sold out.

The league said roughly one million fans registered interest in tickets. That is the highest demand it has ever recorded for games in Europe, and it is not hard to guess why.

The first game is at Accor Arena in Paris on Thursday, January 14. The second moves to Co-op Live in Manchester on Sunday, January 17. Both will stream on Amazon Prime Video.

Wembanyama comes home again

Victor Wembanyama is the draw. Born in France, he played his professional basketball there before San Antonio took him first overall in the 2023 draft. Paris gives him another NBA night in front of a home crowd. Manchester takes the Spurs to England as part of the league’s growing European schedule.

The timing helps. San Antonio won 62 games last season and reached the NBA Finals, where the New York Knicks beat them in five games in June. It was the first Finals trip of the Wembanyama era, and it has raised the bar for 2026-27.

Camp opens next week

The Spurs start training camp next week, with media day set for Monday alongside most of the league. Before Paris, there is a whole autumn to get through, and a Finals loss to answer for.
