Bayern have locked down their top man
Real Madrid pushed hard all summer for Michael Olise. Bayern Munich never blinked. And according to German reports relayed this morning by Foot Mercato, the Bavarian club still has no intention of cashing in on its French winger.
Bild points to one very clear reason. UEFA confirmed last week that the 2028 Champions League final will be staged at the Allianz Arena. Munich wants to be there. With Olise on the pitch.
The club has been here before. In 2012, Bayern played the Champions League final in their own stadium and lost on penalties to Chelsea. Sixteen years later, the chance comes around again. The board is hoping for a different ending.

Olise, the key piece in Kompany’s plan
The France international scored a hat-trick against Union Berlin last week. In Germany, he is now seen as the best player in a side that keeps moving up.
Last season, Vincent Kompany’s Bayern were stopped in the Champions League semi-finals by an immovable PSG side. The squad has improved since then. Club bosses believe it can go all the way, as long as they keep hold of their attacking core.
The matter is not completely closed, though. Real Madrid are said to still have Olise on their list and could come back in future transfer windows. In Bavaria, though, the message is calm enough.
A stance that carries weight across Europe
Keeping Olise shuts down one of the few top-end attacking options still open in Europe. Madrid will have to look elsewhere.
Bayern, meanwhile, are playing a big hand. A home Champions League final does not come around twice in a generation. The only question is whether the player sees the calendar the same way his bosses do.
