Estoril Praia vs Casa Pia: three goals between them in twelve league games 
Estoril Praia have scored two goals in six Liga Portugal matches, Casa Pia just one. Three goals combined across twelve games is the blunt starting point for this seventh-round clash.
The two clubs meet on Sunday 20 September at 19:00 at Estadio Antonio Coimbra da Mota. Seventeenth hosts eighteenth, and neither side has won a game this season.
Estoril have two points from two draws and four defeats. Casa Pia are even worse off with one point and five losses, which leaves them bottom of the Portuguese table.
The gap is clearest at the back. The Canaries have shipped eight goals, the Gansos 15, the heaviest total in the top flight at this stage.
That imbalance is partly down to two brutal afternoons: a 7-0 hammering by Benfica and a 4-1 loss to FC Porto. In the other four league games, Casa Pia have conceded just four.
So this has all the look of a struggle between blunt attacks rather than a goal fest. That matters far more than the league table when reading this one.
One detail stands out even more: neither club has won a match since the season kicked off. Twelve league games between them without a win. In a top-flight year like this, that is a rare mess.
Estoril Praia: eight home league games without a win and only one scorer 
Vasco Matos replaced Ian Cathro in July and is still waiting for his first victory. Six matches, two draws, four defeats: it is the club’s worst start for a long time.
The campaign opened with a 1-1 draw against Famalicao, followed by three straight defeats to Nacional, Rio Ave and Benfica. A 0-0 draw with Arouca hinted at a lift, only for that to be wiped out by a 1-0 defeat at Braga.
The contrast with last season is stark. Estoril scored 54 league goals and finished 10th, their best attacking return since 1950-51.
Their last league win came at Nacional on matchday 26 last season. Since then, they have lost 10 of their 14 top-flight games.
Home is no shelter either: eight straight league home games without a win. Still, the two points they have picked up this season did come at Estadio Antonio Coimbra da Mota, which is about as much comfort as the numbers offer.
Matos will be without Ferro, sent off for two bookings at Braga, opening the door for Samuel Amissah to make his first start. Xavi Sintes, signed from Cordoba in the summer, is still working his way back from knee surgery, so the burden falls on Yanis Begraoui, scorer of both of the team’s goals after netting 20 league goals last season.
The fixture list has not been kind, with Benfica and Braga in the space of three games. Even so, the draws against Famalicao and Arouca were wasted chances against direct rivals.

Casa Pia: no away goals from three trips 
Casa Pia have found the net only once in six league matches. No side in the Portuguese top flight has been worse in front of goal.
The schedule has not helped, with Benfica and Porto coming around in the space of five games. Those two fixtures alone account for 11 of the 15 goals they have conceded under Filipe Coelho.
The 0-0 draw at Vitoria Guimaraes on 6 September showed there is at least a sturdier side to this team. They held firm for 90 minutes, something they had not managed earlier this season.
Away from home, though, the record is plain enough: three trips, no wins and, more alarmingly, no goals. Maritimo and Gil Vicente had already beaten them before that goalless point in Guimaraes.
Their only goal of the season came from a penalty converted by Henrique Araujo against Porto, his first since joining from Benfica. He keeps his place up front ahead of veteran Cassiano, who has not started a game this season.
In goal, Ivan Mandic and Patrick Sequeira are fighting it out after Andre Gomes was injured, while Jeremy Livolant returns from suspension. The Gansos can at least lean on recent history at this ground, after a 2-0 win here in December 2024 and a 0-0 draw last season, with Estoril failing to score in either home game.
Filipe Coelho, who has worked within the set-ups at Benfica, Chelsea and Strasbourg, is under the microscope on Sunday. Another defeat would ramp up the pressure, with his first win still nowhere in sight since taking over this summer.

Our prediction: Under 2.5 goals in the match
Five of Estoril’s six games this season have finished with fewer than three goals, and their highest total has been just three. Casa Pia, meanwhile, have failed to score in all three away games, which naturally drags the expected total down.
The last two Casa Pia visits here also pointed the same way, ending 2-0 and 0-0, with the home side failing to score both times. Add Ferro’s suspension for the hosts and the fact both teams lean so heavily on one main finisher, Begraoui on one side and Araujo on the other, and a tight game feels the likeliest outcome.
This should stay under three goals. The bet is under 2.5 goals.
