Napoli – AC Milan : a first Supercup showdown, far from Italy
Thursday night in Riyadh, AC Milan and Napoli meet in the Italian Supercup for the first time. A mid-season detour from Serie A. Win and you face Inter or Bologna in the final.
Napoli : a tricky patch
The reigning Italian champions, Napoli are chasing a third Supercup after 1990 and 2014. Bad timing though. Conte’s men arrive in Saudi Arabia after two straight defeats, in the league and then in the Champions League.
The loss to Benfica killed their momentum, followed by a frustrating reverse to Udinese on Sunday. Two games where Napoli barely threatened, especially away from home.
On the road the numbers don’t lie. Seven away defeats already this season, after recently going a whole calendar year without losing at the Diego Armando Maradona. They don’t travel well. Conte knows it.
Head-to-head with Milan, recent meetings are even. Over the last 20 duels they’ve traded blows. But in the last months the edge has often swung to the Rossoneri.
Milan : experience and composure
Qualified as Coppa Italia finalists, AC Milan are defending the title they won last January against Inter. Another win would see them join Juventus at the top of Supercup winners.
The last few weeks have been patchy. A cup exit, tight league games, and a frustrating draw with Sassuolo despite an unexpected brace from youngster Davide Bartesaghi.
Defensively, Milan have lost some of their early-season solidity. Clean sheets are rarer, even against supposedly easier opposition. But in the big occasions Allegri’s men tend to show up.
Still unbeaten away this season, Milan also lean on their coach’s experience and Luka Modric’s consistency in midfield.
The strengths on show
On the Napoli side, Romelu Lukaku has returned to training after months out and could make the bench. Stanislav Lobotka is back, but several key players are still missing, notably in midfield and in goal.
Up front, Rasmus Højlund has done the job, involved in eight goals across all competitions.
At Milan, Christian Pulisic remains the main attacking threat. The American has found the net recently and has impressive stats since arriving in Serie A. With Santiago Gimenez still sidelined with an ankle problem, he should link up with Nkunku or Rafael Leão.
In defence, Matteo Gabbia is out; Koni De Winter could start in the centre.
Napoli arrive with doubts, a depleted squad and fragile away momentum. Milan, without being flashy, look steadier in big matches and more comfortable against top teams.
On neutral ground and in a match that can swing either way, both teams have the means to score. But Milan’s experience could matter when it counts.

Football Predictions AC Milan Vs Napoli
Both teams to score
Both sides have attacking weapons. Milan and Napoli both boast players who can change a game with one moment of quality, even in a tight contest. Neither defence has looked entirely secure recently, which opens the door to goals at both ends. On neutral turf, a scenario with chances for both sides looks credible.

First — a word on our tips
- What we publish on Mathodds are analyses, nothing more. We share an opinion, a snapshot of the moment, never a guarantee. Sport is unpredictable. A red card, an injury, a goal out of nowhere… and the script flips completely.
- Let’s be clear: there’s no such thing as a risk-free bet. Even when something looks “obvious”, it’s not. Yes, that means you can lose. It’s inevitable at some point.
- Be sensible. Bet small, set a budget and stick to it. Don’t touch money you need to live. And above all: don’t chase losses — it rarely ends well.
- Betting should remain a game, not a job or a source of income. If it takes over your life, annoys you, or puts you under pressure, take a break. If needed, talk to a specialist organisation. That’s what they’re there for.
- In the end, responsibility is yours. Reading our content means accepting that risk exists and that it won’t disappear, even with the best analysis in the world.
- Important reminder: betting is prohibited for minors and must comply with your country’s laws. Gambling can spiral (money losses, family tension, addiction). Need Help? Call 1-800-GAMBLER. In the UK? Visit https://www.gambleaware.org/https://www.gambleaware.org/.
No commitment on our part
Our predictions aren’t a contract. They carry no legal weight. Plain and simple: you can’t rely on them to claim anything if a bet loses.
Information that changes
A tip is based on what we know when we write it. But the team sheet (like Napoli’s) can change, a player can get injured, the weather can turn… and the analysis quickly becomes outdated. We can’t be held responsible for that.
Your role
Before betting, check that gambling is legal where you are. If it’s not, that’s your responsibility, not ours.
