Deportivo La Coruna vs Real Betis: four clean sheets for the Andalusians, seven straight games conceding for the Galicians 
Real Betis have kept four clean sheets in La Liga this season, the best record in Spain. No other top-flight side has been anywhere near that level of defensive control after six rounds as they head to Deportivo La Coruna.
At the other end, Deportivo La Coruna have conceded at least once in each of their last seven matches. That says plenty about the size of the task facing the Galician newcomers ahead of round seven.
Kick-off is set for Sunday, September 20 at 18:30 Paris time at the Estadio Abanca-Riazor. Deportivo host a side sitting third with 15 points, compared with nine for the home team and a seventh-place spot.
Antonio Hidalgo has already gone well beyond expectations since the restart, with two wins and three draws before their first defeat. Manuel Pellegrini, by contrast, has kept the wins coming and has just put together four straight victories in all competitions.
The clubs have not met in league action since 2018 and Deportivo’s relegation, which gives this one a bit of extra edge from the home side’s point of view. Over their last five meetings, Betis have won three, with one draw and just one Deportivo victory.
Deportivo are finding out how tough life back at the top can be 
The Galician newcomers built their start to the campaign on a five-match unbeaten run, beginning with two 1-1 draws against Elche and Malaga. Nine goals scored and seven conceded in six games suggest a side willing to play, not one hiding behind the sofa.
Back-to-back wins changed the mood around the club, with a 3-1 victory over Valencia and, even better, a 3-2 smash-and-grab at Villarreal. For a promoted side to go and beat a regular European contender sends a message the table has not fully caught up with yet.
The 1-1 draw at Getafe came before their first real setback of the season, a 0-1 home defeat to Sevilla. Angeliino’s dismissal soon after the opener took away any realistic chance for Hidalgo to turn it around.
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is carrying the attack with rare consistency: the striker became the first player since Zlatan Ibrahimovic in 2009-10 to score in his club’s first five La Liga matches. His output explains a big chunk of the nine points they have managed so far.
The back line, though, needs a shuffle, with Jose Tasende suspended after his red card against Sevilla and Angeliino also missing. The defence is expected to be built around Adria Altimira, Miguel Loureiro, Jose Maria Gimenez and Giacomo Quagliata, with Noe Carrillo still a doubt.

Pellegrini’s Betis are rolling on without blinking 
Fifteen points from six games, five wins and just one defeat: Betis have turned last season’s Champions League qualification into serious momentum. They are level on points with Real Madrid and only three behind Barcelona.
Their only slip has been a 5-2 defeat at Levante, an isolated blip in an otherwise controlled run. Outside that, the consistency has been there for all to see, and plenty of clubs would happily take it.
The standout result of the season so far has Pellegrini’s name all over it: Betis are the only side to have beaten Real Madrid, winning 1-0 at La Cartuja earlier this month. They followed that with a 3-2 victory at Lille in their Champions League opener.
The trip to Galicia comes after Thursday’s 1-0 win over Getafe, sealed by an Abde Ezzalzouli goal just before half-time. The Morocco winger should keep his place and looks the main threat against a weakened home defence.
Betis are still carrying a sizeable injury list, with Aitor Ruibal sidelined by a meniscus issue and Ismael Barea out long term after an ACL rupture, with his return not expected until the end of December. Diego Llorente is targeting full fitness in around three weeks, so he misses this one too.

Betis arrive on the back of four straight wins in all competitions and 15 points from a possible 18 in La Liga. That return, along with the league’s best clean-sheet record, points to a team more than capable of handling a hostile day on the road.
Deportivo are missing two defensive pieces, Tasende and Angeliino, and they are already giving up at least one goal in every match in a seven-game stretch. Against an attack that has taken down Real Madrid and Lille in the space of a week, the imbalance is clear.
Aubameyang should keep Deportivo in the game, but the gap in experience between a Champions League side and a promoted one tends to tell over 90 minutes. Back Real Betis to win at Riazor.
