Parma vs Genoa: two goals each after four Serie A rounds 
Parma and Genoa have scored exactly two goals apiece since the start of Serie A. No other side in the Italian top flight has been this blunt after four matches.
Both teams are also locked on the same points total, with one from a possible 12. That leaves the Emilia club in 16th and the Grifone in 19th, second from bottom.
Kick-off is set for Sunday 20 September at 15:00 Paris time at the Stadio Ennio Tardini. It is one of two meetings between sides still without a win on matchday five.
Carlos Cuesta has not won a game since a 2-0 victory over Catania in the Italian Cup in mid-August. Daniele De Rossi, for his part, is stuck on a run of nine Serie A matches without a win, a record that weighs heavily on his spell in Genoa.
The head-to-head record is tight over the long run, with Parma winning 19 and Genoa 17 of their 58 meetings. Recent form, though, has tilted towards the Ligurian side: Parma have not beaten Genoa for three years and are winless in this fixture in four straight matches.
Parma need a finisher as much as a win 
Parma started their league campaign with a 1-0 home defeat to Cagliari, then lost 2-0 in Turin against Juventus. Two blank outings. That set the tone immediately.
An early September Italian Cup exit against Cremonese, a 2-0 loss at the Tardini, only added to the scoring drought. Four defeats in their last five games in all competitions leaves Cuesta with plenty to fix before this home date.
Parma finally got off the mark in round four, grinding out a 1-1 draw with Monza. The follow-up, a 2-1 defeat at Como on Monday night, showed a side that was more competitive but still unable to make their pressure count.
Mateo Pellegrino’s move to Fiorentina has robbed Parma of last season’s top scorer, who netted nine times. Only Simone Lontani and David Romero have found the net since the restart, which tells its own story.
In terms of availability, Cuesta is almost at full strength, with Hans Nicolussi Caviglia his only absentee because of a groin problem. The Spanish coach has most of his squad to call on as he tries to finally get them moving in the win column.

Genoa have been stuck for nine rounds 
The Grifone have not won in Serie A since a 2-1 success against Pisa, a club since relegated to Serie B. Across that nine-game run, they have six defeats and three draws.
Their start to this season has followed the same script, with a 2-0 loss to Napoli followed by a 1-0 defeat at Lazio. Two losses without scoring quickly poured cold water on the summer optimism in Genoa.
The 4-1 home hammering by Como remains the worst result of the campaign so far. Eight goals conceded in four rounds leaves Genoa among the leakiest defences in the division.
A 1-1 draw with Frosinone delivered their first point, before a 1-0 Italian Cup win over Sudtirol in midweek. That result also gave the club its first clean sheet of the season in all competitions.
The trip to Parma comes without Johan Vasquez, suspended after picking up two bookings last weekend, even though the Mexican defender had scored against Frosinone and sealed the win against Sudtirol. Elias Havel, out with an ankle issue, and Lorenzo Venturino, who has a knee injury, are also missing for De Rossi.

Two goals scored in four matches each. That pretty much frames this one. Neither attack has shown any real knack for stringing together dangerous chances since the league returned.
Parma have failed to score in two of their four Serie A outings, and Genoa have done exactly the same. Vasquez’s absence also deprives the Grifone of one of their only two scorers this season, trimming De Rossi’s options even further.
The situation points to caution from both sides too. A second-bottom team and a 16th-placed team do not tend to throw the kitchen sink at this sort of game. Under 2.5 goals at the Stadio Ennio Tardini looks the call.
