Austria, Belgium, then the Groupama Stadium
Rennes flew home from Austria on Wednesday night. Lyon came back from Belgium. Three days later the pair of them meet in Ligue 1 round five, at the Groupama Stadium, kick-off 8:45pm on Saturday 19 September.
Tired legs, then. Four rounds in, nobody has pulled clear at the top, and the European places are already close enough to matter to both of these.
Which leaves the two coaches with the same puzzle. Rotate, or send out the same eleven who played on the continent 72 hours earlier? The team sheets land an hour before kick-off and answer it for us.
The evening is busy. Toulouse against Le Havre, Le Mans against Lorient and Angers against Troyes all go at 8:45pm too. Paris FC host Strasbourg at 5:15pm to start the day, and Monaco against Lens opened the weekend on Friday night.

Find the right channel number before you sit down
Ligue 1+ 2 is where this one lives. That is how the multiplex works: every game in a simultaneous slot gets its own channel number. You get in through the DAZN app, Prime Video Channels, Molotov, RMC Sport or your operator’s box, depending on what you subscribe to. Nothing free-to-air, nothing on terrestrial. If you want to hop between the 8:45pm games, you can move channel to channel inside the same interface without touching your package.
Schedule subject to change by the competition organisers or the broadcaster.
