Anderlecht v Lyon: kick-off at 9pm at Lotto Park
Olympique Lyonnais begin their European campaign on Wednesday 16 September. It is a trip to Brussels and Lotto Park for matchday one of the league phase. Kick-off is set for 9:00pm local time.
Anderlecht are at home and will be looking to get points on the board straight away. The format is unchanged: eight matches per team, one overall table, with the top eight going straight through to the last 16. Places 9 to 24 go into a playoff. One quirk this season is that the opening round is split across two nights, Wednesday and Thursday. The next seven rounds are back on Thursdays.
Two matches get things started at 6:45pm, Omonia Nicosia v Celta Vigo and Ararat-Armenia v Sparta Prague. The other four games, including Lyon’s, all begin at 9:00pm.

Canal+ Foot has coverage
The game is being shown on Canal+ Foot. Canal+ holds the rights to the Europa League this season, with the six 9pm fixtures split across Canal+ Foot, Canal+ Sport and its Live channels. Subscribers can also stream the match live on myCanal via mobile, tablet, computer or a connected box. No free-to-air broadcast is scheduled for the night. The multiplex lets viewers jump from one pitch to another over the 90 minutes, with goals shown live as they go in.
