Six minutes and 10 seconds into the first quarter
Kyler Murray did not finish his first game for the Minnesota Vikings. The quarterback left Sunday night’s meeting with the Green Bay Packers with a concussion.
It happened with 6:10 to go in the opening quarter. Murray scrambled, slid short of the marker, and took a heavy shot to the side of the head. His helmet came off. He stayed down while medical staff came out, then got up and walked to the locker room on his own.
Packers safety Javon Bullard drew a 15-yard unnecessary roughness flag on the play. Minnesota ruled Murray out for the rest of the night at the start of the second quarter.
Kevin O’Connell gave nothing away afterward. The head coach said his quarterback would be evaluated day by day this week. Concussion protocol sets that timetable, not the staff.

Baltimore and New York take hits too
Murray had a lot of company. Zay Flowers left the field in Indianapolis after 150 receiving yards in the first half alone, a career high, when his hamstring went again. The Ravens receiver had already missed two weeks this summer with the same left hamstring.
Rookie teammate Ja’Kobi Lane went off with a wrist injury. NFL Network reported a fracture and a likely multi-week absence, pending tests. Cornerback T.J. Tampa exited in the first quarter with a knee problem.
The Jets lost two in their 23-10 win at Tennessee. Omar Cooper Jr., the No. 30 pick in April’s draft, caught his only target for 30 yards and left on the very next play with an ankle issue. Scans came back negative, though the team fears a high ankle sprain. Minkah Fitzpatrick, a five-time Pro Bowler, saw his Jets debut end with a left adductor injury.
Atlanta, Los Angeles and Cleveland round out the list
The Falcons lost Chris Lindstrom to a concussion. The right guard has made the Pro Bowl each of the past four seasons and was playing his 106th game, all starts. Defensive lineman Da’Shawn Hand also went off with a knee issue.
The Chargers finished their 26-14 loss without Ladd McConkey, who left in the third quarter after a blow to the chest on a catch over the middle. He led the team at the time with five receptions for 82 yards and a touchdown. KeAndre Lambert-Smith and Elijah Molden exited too.
Washington saw Chig Okonkwo, Frankie Luvu and Tyler Owens leave in Philadelphia. Cleveland lost Dylan Sampson to a knee injury. Dallas finished without DeMarvion Overshown or Malik Hooker.
