A deal until 2032 is on the table
Real Madrid are ticking off the contract jobs one by one. Radio Marca reports the club are ready to put a new deal running to 2032 in front of Jude Bellingham.
Nothing has been confirmed by the club. His current terms are no secret, though: they run until 2029, so an extension would add three more years.
Bellingham is 23. He settled in the Spanish capital almost immediately after leaving Borussia Dortmund, quickly enough that he now sits at the centre of the sporting project.
Try it for $0.99.
A wave of extensions at the Bernabeu
This does not come out of nowhere. Vinicius Jr was tied down over the summer. Spanish media reported on Thursday that Thibaut Courtois, to 2028, and Arda Guler, to 2031, have had their renewals wrapped up too.
The official announcements are still to come. What is clear is the direction of travel: the Madrid hierarchy want the core group locked down for years, from goalkeeper through to attacking midfield.
Bellingham is the next name on that list. The biggest one, given his standing and his market value.
Caution on the timing
Nothing has been signed. Radio Marca describes an intention, not a done deal, and Real Madrid have said nothing.
The club face Rayo Vallecano in La Liga on Saturday. An announcement before kick-off looks unlikely, though the run of confirmations expected in the coming days should clear things up.
