Inter Milan vs Udinese: ten goals across the visitors’ three games, eight in the champions’ 
Udinese’s three Serie A matches have produced ten goals, five scored and five conceded. Inter have put away eight of their own across the same number of games.
Those numbers tell the story better than the table does. The reigning champions have nine points from nine, while Udinese sit on four and in 10th place.
This one closes out round four on Monday, September 14 at 20:45, at San Siro. Lega Serie A had this late kick-off pencilled in as soon as the calendar was released, long before the European dates were known.
Inter come into it off a heavy trip. The Nerazzurri were at the Santiago Bernabeu on Tuesday, September 8 for their Champions League opener and came away without the win.
That leaves six days between Madrid and Udinese’s visit. Cristian Chivu has a full week to get his side back in shape.
On the other side, Kosta Runjaic arrives with a team that still hasn’t found its rhythm. One win, one draw, one defeat: the Friuli side’s record fits on one line and tells you very little that is definitive.

Inter have won their first three Serie A games and scored eight goals in the process. That works out at better than two and a half per match.
They opened with a 4-1 win over Monza on August 22, one of the two most explosive games in the league so far. They then brushed Genoa aside 4-1 at the Stadio Luigi Ferraris.
That start carries on from last season, which ended with a 21st scudetto lifted in spring 2026. Being champions comes with a packed European schedule this time around.
Cristian Chivu has kept the 3-5-2 that still shapes Inter’s game, with Benjamin Pavard, John Stones and Alessandro Bastoni in front of Josep Martinez. The Spanish keeper has kept a clean sheet since the restart.
In midfield, Nicolo Barella, Hakan Calhanoglu and Piotr Zielinski handle the build-up, with Federico Dimarco and Andy Diouf out wide. Calhanoglu is among the league’s leading scorers with two goals.
Up front, Lautaro Martinez partners Pio Esposito. Marcus Thuram and Ange-Yoan Bonny are ready-made options from the bench.
The main concern is how Inter manage the three-day turnaround after Madrid. Chivu can rotate without dropping too far in quality, with Manuel Akanji, Yann Bisseck and Luis Henrique giving him options all over the pitch.
San Siro, too, remains one of the toughest places for a mid-table side to visit. Inter scored four in their first home league game of the season.
The key is how quickly this attack can punish teams. Eight goals in three games against a defence that is shipping more than one and a half per match points firmly towards the home side.

Udinese: four points, five goals scored, five conceded 
Udinese have taken four points from three games, with one win, one draw and one defeat. Five goals scored, five conceded, a perfectly neutral difference.
That leaves them 10th, level on points with Sassuolo. Nothing dramatic, nothing reassuring either at this stage.
Their benchmark result came at Monza on August 29, a 3-2 away win. That game produced five goals, a total matched only by Inter-Monza since the season restarted.
Their last outing left a sour taste. Lazio came to the Bluenergy Stadium on September 7 and turned the match around, which also took the Romans to the top of the table.
Kosta Runjaic is sticking with a 3-4-2-1, with Maduka Okoye in goal and Oumar Solet, Christian Kabasele and James Abankwah in the back three. The shape has been exposed whenever they have had to sit deep.
Hassane Kamara brings drive and goals down the left, with two already this season. The Franco-Ivorian is among Serie A’s top scorers.
Jesper Karlstrom wears the armband in midfield alongside Jakub Piotrowski. Up front, Keinan Davis is supplied by Jurgen Ekkelenkamp and Unai Gomez.
The Bluenergy Stadium had offered a decent platform against Lazio before the game flipped after the break. That inability to see games out is the real weak spot for the Friuli side.
The treatment room has also taken its toll, with Zanoli, Chakvetadze, Palma and Zaniolo all missing last time out. Going to San Siro short on numbers makes life that much harder.
