Sixty-six points, and almost none of it in doubt
Syracuse put 66 on New Hampshire and conceded three. Shavane Anderson Jr. ran for 102 yards and three touchdowns, part of a 239-yard, four-score afternoon on the ground for the Orange.
Cal visit on Saturday, and both teams open ACC play with it. Syracuse (1-0) are hunting a fourth 2-0 start in five seasons.
The caveat writes itself. New Hampshire are an FCS side. Cal spent Week 1 against a power-conference opponent.

Cal led 24-24 and then lost the fourth quarter 21-0
The Golden Bears (0-1) went down 45-24 at home to UCLA. It was level at 24 before the Bruins ran off 21 unanswered.
Tosh Lupoi was working his first game on that sideline. His defense surrendered 277 rushing yards and six rushing touchdowns. Syracuse just put up 239 on the ground themselves.
“Everything is fixable,” Lupoi said. “There are some unfortunate mistakes in the way we’re covering the lanes. It starts there, with communication. We just need to execute better and make communication a priority.”
Adam Mohammed at least gave Cal something. The back carried 28 times for 120 yards and a touchdown.
Fran Brown is only worried about one player
It is not the Cal running game keeping the Syracuse coach up at night. It is Jaron-Keawe Sagapolutele.
“That kid can really sling it,” Brown said of the left-hander. “At any moment he can stack up four or five touchdowns. He does a great job of staying calm in the pocket and getting the ball out. We’re up against a future pro.”
The tape is more complicated. Sagapolutele threw for 271 yards and two touchdowns against UCLA, then handed over two interceptions in the fourth quarter, both after his team had clawed back to 24-24.
These two have met once since Cal joined the ACC in 2024. Syracuse went on the road and won 33-25, with Kyle McCord outthrowing Fernando Mendoza, the future Heisman winner, 323 yards to 225.
