One cross, and 70 minutes of chasing were wiped out
Austin FC had spent most of the night second best. Then Zan Kolmanic swung one in. Facundo Torres, unmarked in the middle of the box, climbed above the defense and buried the header inside the near post. Nico Hansen went the right way and got nowhere near it.
Fourth goal of the season for the Uruguayan, third in his last five. Austin (6-10-8, 26 points) stretch their unbeaten run to five, though this is also the second home draw they have taken in five days.
The point keeps them alive in a playoff race where they are still the ones doing the chasing.

Colorado ran the game and still let it slip
For 70 minutes the Rapids were the better side. Paxten Aaronson opened the scoring in the 22nd, after Austin botched a routine clearance. Guilherme Biro blocked Darren Yapi’s shot, nobody reacted, and Aaronson swept it in off the inside of the left post.
That goal ended a drought. It was Colorado’s first away strike since the World Cup break, closing out three road trips and eight matches without scoring on the road.
The Rapids (10-12-2, 32 points) take their first away point in four attempts since the restart. It also breaks a rhythm they had settled into over four games: win at home, lose on the road, repeat.
Stuver had already made four saves before Torres scored
There was nothing to rescue without Brad Stuver. The keeper denied Youssef Maziz in the 10th, then stopped Donavan Phillip twice inside four minutes either side of the half-hour. The important one came in the 77th, a save from Aaronson two minutes before the equaliser dropped.
Hansen was busy as well. Right hand to a Joseph Rosales shot in the 64th, then over the bar from a Jorge Alastuey header three minutes later.
Colorado will replay that 77th minute for a while.
