Jude Terry sparks it all
LAFC beat the New York Red Bulls 2-0 overnight. Jude Terry broke the deadlock midway through the first half. It was his second career MLS goal.
The 17-year-old midfielder was making only his third start, drafted into the XI because of injuries to Timothy Tillman and Ryan Porteous. The move came from a New York turnover in their own half. Son Heung-min collected Yevhen Cheberko’s pass on the left side of the box, skipped past two defenders with a drag-back, and hit a low drive. Ethan Horvath got down to save it, but Terry ghosted in to bury the rebound from close range. The keeper saw it late.
Armindo Sieb sealed it in the closing stages. It was the striker’s first MLS goal since arriving from Mainz in the summer.

A six-game slide comes to an end
LAFC (11-7-7, 40 points) had not won in the league since July 25. Six games without a win, a proper rut at the worst possible time of the season. Hugo Lloris made one save and recorded his 12th clean sheet, the club’s 13th.
Los Angeles stay third in the Western Conference, ahead of Dallas and St. Louis on goal difference.
Igor Jesus came on in the 60th minute. It was his first appearance since August 23, 2025 and his left ACL tear. Son almost doubled the lead in the 78th minute, but Justin Che diverted his 20-yard effort onto the bar.
New York finish with nine
The Red Bulls (7-11-6, 27 points) are now six without a win and slip to 12th in the Eastern Conference. This was their second away trip in a four-game run.
The night turned ugly on the injury front. Three players went off hurt, including two after Michael Bradley had used all his substitutions. Teenage midfielder Adri Mehmeti left in the 33rd minute, defender Jahkeele Marshall-Rutty went off around the 75th, and Justin Che limped off in stoppage time. New York finished with nine men.
For a club already struggling on the road, there is no breathing room in the schedule.
