Bayern knew months before anyone else
The club had been living with this one for a while. Long before Jamal Musiala’s health issues reached the public, Bayern Munich were already working the case internally, and Max Eberl let that slip during the day.
“Unlike the wider public, this sort of situation has been part of our day-to-day work for quite some time. At the moment, I am optimistic. His treatment has been increased and things are moving in the right direction,” the sporting director explained.

A calendar Bayern refuse to write
Eberl would not put a timeline on it. Bayern are refusing to rush the Germany international back and are favouring a gradual return, with no fixed schedule.
The sporting director also sent a message to the player’s camp. “Right now, it is important to give him the calm he needs. I hope that, when he is back on the pitch, the focus will be on football again, that people will leave him alone and give him their support.”
No specific diagnosis has been released. The club is sticking to that line, and does not look like moving off it.
Bodo/Glimt on Thursday, without him
Bayern open their Champions League campaign on Thursday against Bodo/Glimt before turning back to the Bundesliga. Musiala will not be involved in either.
What happens after that, nobody at the club is willing to say out loud.
