“I’m officially done”
Brandon Graham did not book a press conference for this. He told a room at a Jefferson Health team event, a few hours ago, and that was that.
“I’m officially done. Y’all hearing it from me first,” the defensive end said Tuesday, closing 16 seasons with the Philadelphia Eagles.
He is 38. He has appeared in more games for the franchise than any player in its history, 228 counting the playoffs, and he ranks third in club annals with 79.5 sacks. Only the second part of that will make the record books look impressive. The first part is the one that mattered inside the building.

The strip-sack that changed a city
Ask anyone in Philadelphia and the highlight arrives the same way. Super Bowl LII, fourth quarter, Tom Brady dropping back, Graham ripping the ball loose. The Eagles won 41-33 against the New England Patriots and lifted the first Lombardi Trophy in franchise history.
The rest of the resume backs it up. Graham finished with 495 tackles, 156 quarterback hits, 23 forced fumbles and seven fumble recoveries in 215 regular-season games. He started only 106 of them. Most of that production came in rotation, off the bench, on a snap count, which makes the volume harder to wave away.
Philadelphia drafted him 13th overall in 2010 out of Michigan. He never played a professional down anywhere else.
He already tried retiring once
Graham walked away the first time after the 2024 season, a second ring in hand from Super Bowl LIX. It held until last November, when he came back and played nine games, collecting three sacks. That return now reads as an epilogue rather than a second act.
He is not vanishing from the facility either. “I’m still gonna be around, giving wisdom, helping the guys,” he said. “It’s an adjustment for me. But it’s a great adjustment because it’s all about my kids and my family, trying to make sure I’m there for that.”
The Eagles will open a season without Brandon Graham on the roster for the first time since 2009.
