Twenty-ninth pick in the 2020 draft. Six years on, Brendan Brisson is signing a one-year deal in Toronto and hoping it buys him a locker.

The Maple Leafs confirmed the agreement Friday without putting a figure on it. Reporting around the league pegs it as a two-way contract, $850,000 at NHL level. Drop to the American league and that number shrinks fast.

Vegas drafted him in the first round. The Golden Knights never quite committed. Neither did the Rangers.
