Fulham vs Crystal Palace: two London sides still on zero points 
Fulham and Crystal Palace have both taken zero points from their first two Premier League matches. This London derby will give one of them a first lift of the season.
Kick-off is set for Saturday, 5 September at 16:00, French time, at Craven Cottage. The game sits in the 15:00 local slot.
The Cottagers are 16th with two goals scored and four conceded. Palace are 18th with one goal for and six against.
That lone Palace goal needs a bit of explaining: it was an own goal by the opposition, gifted in the home meeting with Manchester City. No Palace player has found the net yet.
Fulham have at least shown something going forward, with two goals on opening day against Chelsea. The problem is elsewhere, in their ability to hold onto a result.
Both sides have a negative goal difference, minus two for Fulham and minus five for Palace. That Palace figure is the worst in the division, level with Aston Villa.
Both clubs have lost both of their matches, but by different margins. The Cottagers have shipped four, Palace six.
One team will leave Craven Cottage with its first points, or neither will. Either way, the loser heads into September already chasing the pack.
Fulham: two goals scored, but two defeats on the board 
Fulham opened their season at home to Chelsea, losing 3-2 in front of 27 461 fans. It was rough from the off.
Joao Pedro scored in the 1st minute for the Blues, before Josh King dragged Fulham back into it in the 23rd. Morgan Rogers restored the two-goal cushion in the 41st.
Cole Palmer made it 3-1 in the 49th minute, and Gonzalo Garcia’s goal in the 54th was not enough to turn things around. Fulham were chasing the game for almost the entire afternoon.
Matchday two brought a different type of defeat, a 1-0 loss at the Stadium of Light in front of 46 781 spectators. Wilson Isidor settled it in the 75th minute for Sunderland.
That 75-minute stalemate showed the block can hold, but the attack disappears once it is not fed. No away goals since the restart.
Josh King and Gonzalo Garcia are the only Fulham scorers this season, with one each. The output is scattered, with no clear focal point up front.
Chelsea scored their three goals between the 1st and 49th minute, forcing Fulham into constant reaction mode. The Cottagers have not led a league match since the restart.
That failure to get in front explains a lot of the pointless start. Teams that are always chasing the score usually end up folding.
Hosting an opponent in even worse shape gives them the best chance yet to get off the mark. Craven Cottage, though, still has not seen Fulham win this season.

Crystal Palace: no player has scored yet 
Crystal Palace have one goal to their name after two rounds, and none of their players scored it. It was a Gianluigi Donnarumma own goal in the 56th minute in the home meeting with Manchester City.
That game ended in a 4-1 defeat, with Erling Braut Haaland scoring twice in the 17th and 85th minutes. Rayan Cherki added two more in the 54th and 59th.
Conceding four at home is their worst total of the young season. The side fell apart during a five-minute spell in the second half.
The opening weekend was already a bad sign, with a 2-0 defeat at Everton in front of 51 820 spectators. Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall struck in the 42nd minute.
After two games, Palace have shipped six and scored one, and that minus-five difference is the worst in the league along with Aston Villa. There is no room for error.
The total lack of attacking threat is the real concern: not one player in the squad has yet appeared in the Premier League scoring charts. This is not just about finishing. It is about creating anything at all.
Manchester City’s four goals came in the 17th, 54th, 59th and 85th minutes, so Palace have cracked at different points rather than in one single collapse.
They also have not kept a clean sheet since the season started. Two games, six conceded, no defensive reference point.
The trip to Craven Cottage now looks like a must-not-lose before the international break. A third straight defeat would leave the Eagles in the bottom end of the table for a while.

Our prediction: Fulham to win
Fulham scored twice against Chelsea on opening day, which shows they can carry a threat against a top-half side. Palace, over the same spell, have not had a single scorer.
That gap is the whole story here: one Palace goal in two matches, and it was an own goal by the opposition. A side that does not score cannot win away from home.
Palace have also conceded six in two matches, including four at home to Manchester City. That back line offers no real cover against an attack that has already found the net twice.
