A Dutch lead for the ex-PSG man
Thilo Kehrer was not supposed to move this summer. Yet according to Foot Mercato, the German defender is on Ajax Amsterdam’s radar with just hours left before the window shuts.
The deal on the table looks modest. A straight loan, no option to buy. Monaco would not be selling him, just letting him go for a season.
Kehrer is 29 and under contract until 2028. At that age, with that much time still to run, a loan carrying no long-term fee reads like a football call rather than an accounting one.

Three files, three different answers
The wider picture matters here. AS Monaco are in the middle of a busy transfer day, with the Folarin Balogun file dominating proceedings after Foot Mercato reported an agreement worth 50 million euros with Everton.
At the same time, the Monaco board turned away Chelsea’s advances for Lamine Camara. Sell the striker, keep the midfielder, loan out the defender. Three calls, three different lines of thinking, all inside the same afternoon.
Kehrer has never fully nailed down a starting spot since arriving in the Principality. He can cover centre-back and right-back, which was once sold as an asset before it started to feel like a label he could not shake.
What Ajax would be getting
For Amsterdam, the appeal is obvious. A defender with PSG experience costs little on a straight loan and brings a level of know-how the Dutch league does not often pick up cheaply.
Nothing is done yet. The window closes on Tuesday night, and loans without an option to buy tend to land in the final hour.
