“I feel really good”, and nothing else
Malik Nabers faced the media on Wednesday night and refused to put a date on his comeback. The New York Giants receiver tore his ACL on September 28, in Week 4 against the Los Angeles Chargers.
He said the details of his return would stay “in-house”. Beyond that, he kept things pretty tight.
“I feel pretty good. Actually, I feel really good, to be honest,” he said. “But like I said, you can feel good and still have boxes to tick before you’re ready to go. So I’m just keeping at it, listening to the trainers, listening to the doctors and going through everything with them.”
Asked about Week 1 against the Dallas Cowboys, he sidestepped the question. “My focus is on being ready to play in the regular season, whenever that is and whoever it’s against. I’m going to make sure I’m ready and fit enough to play all four quarters.”

A reworked receiver room
For now, the New York receiving corps is built around Darius Slayton, third-round pick Malachi Fields and Darnell Mooney. And then there is a name the franchise thought it had seen the last of.
Odell Beckham Jr., 33, is in the 53-man roster unveiled on Sunday. He had not played an NFL game since 2025 and had not worn a Giants shirt since 2018, before his move to Cleveland.
The history matters here. Beckham was taken 12th overall in 2014 out of LSU, and his one-handed grab as a rookie remains one of the most replayed moments in modern league history.
The role nobody saw coming
Asked what he would bring this season, Beckham kept it to two words: “leader presence”. Nabers, who is 10 years younger, says he saw that first-hand over the summer.
“He came up to me a lot and asked questions about rehab,” the receiver said. “He was trying to give me advice, stuff that helped him during his own rehab. He wanted to see me back out there.”
John Harbaugh, beginning his first season in charge of the Giants, plans to use Beckham in different offensive packages. How much New York leans on him if Nabers is not cleared for the opener is still up in the air.
