Hours left, and Everton finally move
Fabrizio Romano put the news out on Monday morning. Everton have sent an official offer to AS Monaco for Folarin Balogun, and talks between the two clubs are already running.
The timing tells you plenty. Beto is being linked with Fiorentina at around 17 million euros, and if he goes, Everton are left staring at a striker-shaped hole with the English window about to slam shut. Balogun fits the profile they need. He is 25, he presses, and he has scored at a decent clip when fit.

Monaco have four days and no decision
Thiago Scuro was blunt about it. The general manager said he has no idea how this one ends, laying out the two live options in front of him: sell, or keep the player.
That hesitation is not just posturing. Monaco have opened Ligue 1 well, capped by a 2-0 win over OM on the back of a Paris Brunner double. Selling an international forward with no replacement lined up would hand Filipe Luis a problem he did not ask for.
Everton are not alone in circling. Foot Mercato reports interest from Fiorentina and Atalanta in Serie A. A concrete Premier League bid tends to force the issue on a deal that has been drifting since June.
Three years in the principality, and no settled role
Balogun joined Monaco from Arsenal in 2023, one of the biggest outlays the club has ever made. The spell since has been stop-start. Good runs, then injuries, then a spot on the bench, and never a stretch long enough to make the shirt properly his.
His name surfaced early in the summer. Chelsea were mentioned, so were Barcelona. Nothing materialised in either case. Everton carry less prestige than that pair, but they offer something those clubs never realistically would: guaranteed minutes in an attack that needs rebuilding from the ground up.
Nothing is signed. Monaco hold the cards, the deadline in England is a matter of hours away, and Scuro still has not shown his hand.
