Twenty-six boards in one night
Angel Reese pulled down 26 rebounds against the Los Angeles Sparks on Monday. No player had done that in a WNBA game. Chamique Holdsclaw set the previous mark of 24 on 23 May 2003 for Washington, and it had stood for 23 years. Reese passed it and kept going, closing with 11 points and her 27th double-double of the season on a basket with 13.9 seconds left.
She broke a second record earlier in the same game. Her 452nd rebound of the campaign moved her past A’ja Wilson’s single-season mark from 2024. She finished the night on 458.

Atlanta close out a perfect trip
The Dream won 78-71 and went 4-0 on their West Coast swing. Allisha Gray scored 20, Rhyne Howard added 18 and Naz Hillmon contributed 12. Atlanta climb to 25-13 and sit within half a game of third place overall with six regular-season games left.
Los Angeles pushed back hard. Nneka Ogwumike posted a season-high 27 points with 16 rebounds, Cameron Brink came off the bench for 15 points and five blocks, and Dearica Hamby added 15. The Sparks played without guard Rae Burrell, their third-leading scorer, who missed the game through illness.
A tighter game than the last one
Atlanta hung a franchise-record 124 points on the Sparks in the same building five days earlier. Monday looked nothing like that. The Dream shot 40.0 percent and led 20-15 after a quarter before Los Angeles clawed within one at halftime, 37-36. Ogwumike led all scorers with 12 in the opening two quarters.
Gray scored nine in the third and Atlanta took a 62-55 lead into the fourth. The margin reached double figures at 66-55 with 9:05 remaining and never shrank again. Los Angeles drop to 13-25 and have lost seven of eight. Atlanta eliminated them from playoff contention last Thursday and have now taken all three meetings between the sides this season.
