Osasuna vs Levante: a Monday night that already feels big at El Sadar
Kick-off is set for Monday 24 August at 19:30 local time at El Sadar in Pamplona, Osasuna’s home. This closes out the La Liga round and pits two clubs against each other who are arriving with very different resources.
Osasuna are in front of their own fans, in a ground known for making life miserable for visitors. Levante head to Navarre needing to scrap for points in a place where nobody expects them to get much.
The Navarre side still leans on Ante Budimir to lead the attack. The staff, though, have doubts over Rosier and Raul Moro, and their availability will shape the final line-up.
For the visitors, preparations have been disrupted by registration issues involving Hugo Sotelo. Roger Brugue has been pushed into midfield to cover the admin mess, a tweak nobody had planned on.
The head-to-head record points towards the home side, with eight wins to Levante’s five. But the last meeting told a very different story, with the visitors winning 3-2.
Levante also come in off two defeats in their last three matches. That sort of run soon chips away at the confidence of a side whose main aim is survival.
So the picture is fairly simple: a home favourite against an outsider forced out of his comfort zone. The question is whether Osasuna have enough control to turn that into three points.
Early-season fixtures leave no room for passengers for either club. A bad start is always harder to repair than it looks in August.
Osasuna, a team that lives with and through Ante Budimir
Ante Budimir remains the main focal point of the Navarre attack. Everything going forward runs through his ability to pin the opposition centre-backs.
There is an obvious downside to that dependence: when the Croatia striker is handled well, the options dry up quickly. Aimar Oroz and Ruben Garcia therefore have a major role in feeding the front man.
El Sadar is still one of the most uncomfortable places to play in Spanish football for an away side. The atmosphere, the tight pitch and the high press often turn matches there into a scrap.
The expected centre-back pair of Alejandro Catena and Flavien Boyomo is built on solidity rather than clean build-up. Abel Bretones provides the width down the left.
In midfield, Jon Moncayola and Iker Munoz form a double pivot built for winning the ball back. That base allows Osasuna to cede possession without falling apart.
The uncertainty over Raul Moro and Rosier, though, means the staff must have a plan B on the right. A late absence would shuffle the attacking deck.
The Navarre block depends heavily on winning the ball high up the pitch. When Osasuna’s press clicks, Budimir gets served in far better positions.

Levante arrive in Pamplona with a patched-up midfield
Levante head to Navarre with two defeats in their last three outings. That is hardly the kind of form that invites optimism before a trip like this.
The Valencia club begin another season under pressure, with survival the immediate target. Every away point will count twice in the season-long maths.
The Hugo Sotelo registration issue has thrown the planned midfield balance out of sync. Roger Brugue drops deeper to plug the gap, which is far from ideal this early in the campaign.
Mathew Ryan is the insurance policy in this setup, and his experience matters in games where the side spends long spells under the cosh. In front of him, Aissa Mandi is the defensive leader.
The attacking punch comes through Carlos Alvarez in the middle and Ivan Romero up top. Paco Cortes and Victor Garcia complete a front three designed to attack the space left behind the home full-backs.
The one real reason for hope is the last meeting, that 3-2 win. Repeating anything like that would take a near-perfect night, and that is a big ask given their current form.
The schedule is no kinder to the visitors either, with difficult fixtures coming thick and fast at the start of the season. Stringing two solid performances together is the short-term aim.
Expected Osasuna line-up: Sergio Herrera ; Iñigo Arguibide, Alejandro Catena, Flavien Boyomo, Abel Bretones ; Jon Moncayola, Iker Muñoz ; Rubén García, Aimar Oroz, Raúl Moro ; Ante Budimir.
Expected Levante line-up: Mathew Ryan ; Nacho Pérez, Adrián De La Fuente, Aïssa Mandi, Manuel Sánchez ; Jon Olasagasti, Oriol Rey ; Víctor García, Carlos Álvarez, Paco Cortés ; Iván Romero.
La Liga Prediction Osasuna vs Levante
Our prediction: Osasuna win
Osasuna face an opponent whose organisation has been weakened, with Sotelo out and the midfield being reshaped at the last minute. That sort of imbalance tends to get punished at El Sadar.
The Navarre side also hold the edge in the history between the clubs, with eight wins to five, and they are back in front of their own crowd as they properly get their season going. Budimir is still the most decisive player among the 22 names expected to start.
Levante have won just once in their last three and travel with no real certainty. An Osasuna win, priced around 1.85, looks the most sensible call on this fixture.

First, a word on our free tips
- What we publish on mathodds is analysis, nothing more. We share an opinion, a read on the moment, but never a guarantee. Sport is what it is: unpredictable. A red card, an injury, a goal from nowhere… and the script changes completely.
- Let’s be clear: there is no risk-free bet. Even when something looks “obvious”, nothing really is. And yes, that means you can lose. In fact, at some point, you will.
- The best approach is to stay sensible. Bet small, set a budget and stick to it. Do not touch money you need to live. And above all: do not chase losses, it rarely ends well.
- A bet should stay a game, not a job or a source of income. If you feel it is taking up too much space in your daily life, winding you up or putting you under pressure, take a break. And if needed, speak to a specialist support group. That is what they are there for.
- In the end, the responsibility is yours. Reading our content means accepting that risk exists and will never disappear, even with the best analysis in the world.
- Essential reminder: betting is banned for minors and must follow the law in your country. Gambling can spiral fast, with money lost, family tension and addiction. Need Help? Call 1-800-GAMBLER. In the UK? Visit https://www.gambleaware.org/https://www.gambleaware.org/.
No commitment from us
Our tips are not a contract. They have no legal force. In plain English: you cannot rely on them to demand anything if a bet loses.
Information that changes
A tip is always based on what we know when it is written. But in the meantime, a team sheet changes (like Osasuna’s, for example), a player gets injured, the weather turns… and the analysis can quickly be out of date. We cannot be held responsible for that.
Your role
Before you bet, check that betting is legal where you are. If it is not, that is your responsibility, not ours.
