That gap tells the story of Omar Marmoush at Manchester City better than any highlight reel.
The Egypt forward is joining Tottenham. Fabrizio Romano, relayed by Foot Mercato, reported that the clubs closed the deal on Sunday afternoon: a loan with a purchase option of roughly 58 million euros, which becomes obligatory if certain conditions are met. Marmoush travels to London on Monday for his medical and to sign.
City paid close to 80 million to take him from Eintracht Frankfurt in January 2025. Eighteen months later the ledger reads 62 appearances, 16 goals, 6 assists. Respectable numbers for a rotation forward. Never quite enough to force his way into a first-choice attack with this many alternatives.

Spurs are spending like the window closes forever
Nearly 300 million euros gone already, and that was before this one. Sandro Tonali cost 108 million from Newcastle. Mateus Fernandes, 99 from West Ham. Jan Paul van Hecke, 60 from Brighton. Senesi, Robertson and Dubravka arrived for nothing, which by Tottenham’s standards this summer counts as restraint.
Savinho is expected to follow the same road from Manchester to north London, a deal valued near 100 million with add-ons. Fold Marmoush into that and Spurs clear half a billion in a single window. Roberto De Zerbi has been handed a squad, not a project.
City are selling and buying at the same time
The final days at the Etihad look busy. An agreement is in place with Lille for Ayyoub Bouaddi at around 100 million euros. Brazilian winger Allan Elias may take the same route. Nico Gonzalez has been linked with Newcastle.
Marmoush, 55 caps and 11 goals for Egypt, gets a second Premier League run somewhere the shape suits him. De Zerbi likes forwards who drop into midfield and move, which was never really how City used him. Whether that 58 million option ever gets triggered is a question for next spring.
