One series changed the top of the table
LYON arrived at the final day of Week 4 with a 3-0 record and left it 3-1. Sentinels took the series 2-1, winning the first and third games, and in doing so left Team Liquid as the only unbeaten roster in the League Championship Series Summer Split.
Cho “Rahel” Min-seong carried the upset with a 10-4-21 kill-death-assist line. Twenty-one assists against ten kills describes a player who spent the series setting up team fights rather than closing them, and it came from a roster sitting fifth in an eight-team field. Sentinels are now 2-2 in matches and 5-6 in maps.
Cloud9 used the same day to finish a 2-0 sweep of FlyQuest, a third consecutive win after losing their opener. Lee “Loki” Sang-min posted 12-4-18. Cloud9 now share second place with LYON and Shopify Rebellion, all three at 3-1, though map records separate them: LYON hold 7-2, the other two 6-4.

What is left of the regular season
The split opened on July 25 and runs seven weeks, eight teams, everyone playing everyone once in a best-of-three. Team Liquid lead at 4-0 with an 8-0 map record, the only side yet to drop a game. FlyQuest sit sixth at 1-3. Dignitas and Disguised are both 0-4 and playing for survival rather than seeding.
Six of the eight teams reach the playoffs. The top two go straight to the semifinals, third through sixth start in the quarters, and the bottom two are eliminated outright. With three weeks of round-robin left, LYON’s defeat costs them the outright second seed rather than their season.
The road to New York
Playoffs run September 12 to October 4, best-of-five and double elimination. Three teams come out of that bracket and into the World Championship, staged across New York, Los Angeles and Allen, Texas, from October 15 to November 14.
Week 5 opens Saturday with Sentinels against FlyQuest and Disguised against Dignitas.
