Two birdies in three holes, four more coming home
Steven Alker did his damage at both ends of the card. Two birdies inside his first three holes, four more across the closing eight.
The New Zealander signed for a 68 on Saturday at the Boeing Classic in Snoqualmie, Washington. Four under. He is on 135, nine under through 36 holes, and leads by one going into the final round.
It was his second consecutive round of 68 or better after Friday’s 67.

Eleven Champions Tour wins, and only one so far this year
Alker is 55. He has 11 titles on the Champions Tour and exactly one win this season, back at the Cologuard Classic in March.
Vaughn Taylor shot the same number on Saturday, five birdies against a single bogey, and sits second at eight under.
Steve Flesch and Soren Kjeldsen share third at seven under. Flesch had been grinding out a one-under day until he holed out for eagle at the par-5 18th. That turned it into a 69.
Kjeldsen recovers, Sabbatini gives it all back
Kjeldsen’s 67 was the messy kind. Three birdies to open, then a double bogey that could have taken the round with it. Five more birdies and one bogey later, he was still in it.
“I birdied the first three and then had a small setback, but I got back to a good level of play quickly,” the Dane said. “It is not a clean card, but I hit a lot of good shots and made putts. I feel good.”
Rory Sabbatini had the lead after a bogey-free 65 on Friday. Saturday brought a 73. The Slovak now shares fifth with Richard Green (65), Notah Begay III (67), Angel Cabrera (69) and Jerry Kelly (71).
