Nashville flip the game in 11 minutes
Nashville SC fell behind and then took Atlético San Luis apart. The MLS side beat the Liga MX club 4-1 at Geodis Park on Sunday, scoring three times in an 11-minute burst at the end of the first half to turn an early deficit into a commanding lead.
Rafa Llorente put San Luis in front and briefly silenced the home crowd. The lead did not last. Cristian Espinoza took over, striking twice before the interval and dragging Nashville ahead. The Argentine wore the No. 7 and played like a man determined to mark his return to the side.

Espinoza leads the response
Espinoza’s brace anchored the spell that decided the match. Nashville pressed higher, moved the ball faster, and forced the mistakes that had gone against them minutes earlier. By halftime they led comfortably, and they added a fourth after the break to remove any doubt.
The win matters in the standings. Nashville lost their opener to León by a single goal and needed a response to stay involved. They got it. B.J. Callaghan’s team now sit back in contention for one of the four quarterfinal places reserved for MLS clubs, with the group still open.
San Luis undone by a bad spell
San Luis will look back at those 11 minutes with regret. They started well, took the lead, and then lost their grip on the game completely. One poor stretch cost them control, and Nashville punished every lapse. The visitors could not recover once Espinoza turned the score around.
For Nashville, the shape of the win counts as much as the result. Falling behind at home and answering with four goals points to a team that trusts its attack. The quarterfinal race is alive again, and Espinoza looks ready to carry them through it.
