A substitute settles it
FC Dallas keep finding ways to win without their best football. On Saturday night at PayPal Park, Logan Farrington came off the bench and settled a tight Leagues Cup tie against Chivas de Guadalajara, 1-0. The goal arrived in the 72nd minute, and it was worth the wait.

The scoreline says 1-0. The goalkeeping says more. Jonathan Sirois posted his third straight shutout across all competitions, denying Ledezma and Castaneda in a second half where Chivas pushed hard. Dallas have now gone three matches without conceding, a run built on the defensive rotation coach Eric Quill has trusted through this tournament.
The numbers back the trend. This is a second Leagues Cup win, moving Dallas to six points with a plus-three goal difference, good for fourth in the combined standings as the group phase closes. Chivas, by contrast, leave with a single point, their tournament finished before it really began.
