Real Salt Lake pour it on against Atlante
Real Salt Lake needed goals and points. They found both on Saturday, dismantling Liga de Expansion side Atlante 4-0 at America First Field in front of 19,510 fans to breathe life back into their Leagues Cup run.
Sergi Solans opened the scoring in the first half. From there the hosts controlled possession, pressed high, and never let Atlante settle. The visitors found no answer for the movement in front of them.

Two goals in four second-half minutes
The game broke open early after the interval. Zach Booth doubled the lead in the 50th minute. Four minutes later Lukas Engel made it three, punishing an Atlante defense that had already lost its shape. Pablo Ruiz added the fourth in the 90th to seal the rout.
Four different scorers told the story of a balanced attack. Real Salt Lake spread the goals around, took their chances, and turned a must-win assignment into a comfortable evening.
Hopes alive in Phase One
The result matters beyond the scoreline. It keeps Real Salt Lake in contention to advance from the group stage, where goal difference can decide who moves on. A 4-0 margin builds a useful cushion in that math.
This was also a first meeting between the two clubs, and the hosts made it one to remember. Atlante head home with plenty to fix. Real Salt Lake move into the next round of matches with confidence restored.
