Phoenix wanted him back. Dillon Brooks signed a three-year extension worth $73 million on Wednesday, tying him to the Suns through 2029-2030.
He isn’t dialing down the act. “The villain is here to stay. The title is all I’ve got on my mind,” he told the Arizona Republic. At 30, the wing gets paid after the best season of his career.

Twenty a night, and every start
Career-high 20.2 points in 2025-2026. Brooks chipped in 3.6 rebounds, 1.8 assists and a steal a game across 56 outings, starting every one.
He landed in Arizona last summer as part of the deal that shipped Kevin Durant to Houston. Then the playoffs went sideways. Oklahoma City swept the Suns in the first round, though Brooks kept firing, 26 points and six boards a night.
Loved in one locker room, loathed in the other
Brooks builds his game on defense and on getting inside an opponent’s head. That reputation carries a cost, six suspensions so far. Memphis took him in the second round back in 2017, Houston had him for a spell, and across 548 NBA games he sits at 14.8 points a night.
