Esports: PlayTime sweep the Games of the Future for the Dota 2 crown

Three maps, three wins

Astana, Wednesday. A clean sweep. PlayTime gave Yakult Brothers nothing in the Games of the Future final, taking the Dota 2 title in ruthless fashion.

Three maps. 63 minutes, then 38, then 44. Same story every time: PlayTime in control, Yakult chasing shadows. The top prize, 350 000 dollars, was secured without much fuss.

A five from three countries

The roster tells its own story. Abed “Abed” Yusop, from the Philippines. Anucha “Jabz” Jirawong, from Thailand. And three Peruvians: Maximo “Wits” Orozco Alza, Elvis “Scofield” Pena, Yelsthin “Elmisho” Hurtado.

The tournament kicked off on July 31 with sixteen teams. The total prize pool was one million dollars. Team Resilience finished third earlier in the day, beating Rune Eaters 2-0.

What comes next

PlayTime head home with the trophy and the big cheque. The rest of the field picks up the scraps. Dota 2 has another name to remember.
