Sky Sports keeps Southern Hemisphere rugby
The deal is done. Sky Sports will carry Southern Hemisphere rugby in the UK through to 2030 after agreeing fresh terms with SANZAAR on Tuesday. The partnership already runs 25 years deep, and this renewal stretches it past the three-decade mark.
The timing lands well. Sky now holds exclusive UK rights to the Rugby’s Greatest Rivalry series between the Springboks and All Blacks, which starts Friday, August 7. The broadcaster also locks in the Springboks’ return tour of New Zealand in 2030.

What Sky picked up
The package spreads wider than one series. Sky takes the 2027, 2028 and 2029 editions of the Rugby Championship, plus home Tests for the Wallabies and Argentina through August and September, the Bledisloe Cup included. Super Rugby Pacific stays on the platform too.
SANZAAR chief executive Brendan Morris kept his message simple. “SANZAAR is delighted to retain Sky Sports as a rights holder broadcaster in the UK,” he said, naming Super Rugby Pacific, the Rugby Championship and the Bledisloe Cup as the core of what UK fans will watch.
A series that ends in Baltimore
The Greatest Rivalry tour opens Friday when the All Blacks meet the Stormers. Dave Rennie’s side then take on the Sharks and the Bulls before the first Test against the Springboks, with the Lions slotted in as a mid-week fixture. The fourth Test travels to the United States, booked for Baltimore.
