Salaun decides it in crunch time
Twenty-one points for Janelle Salaun. Golden State knocked off the Toronto Tempo 92-82 in San Francisco, and the French forward saved her sharpest stretch for the turn between the third and fourth quarters.
That is where the game tilted. Toronto had trimmed it to a single point, 69-68, with 1:22 left in the third. Then the roof caved in. The Valkyries reeled off 12 unanswered, Salaun lighting the fuse with an and-one at 2.9 seconds on the third-quarter clock before adding a layup and a three. 81-68, and the Tempo never crept back inside seven.

A deep bench, a team humming
Kayla Thornton chipped in 20. Veronica Burton stuffed the sheet with 12 points, eight boards and seven assists. Golden State’s reserves buried Toronto’s, 37-13, with Salaun and Tiffany Hayes combining for 33 off the pine.
It was the Valkyries’ 11th win in 13 games. At 21-9, they have now swept the season series with the Tempo.
Toronto keeps sliding
Nyara Sabally topped the Tempo with 21. It went for nothing. Toronto has now lost seven in a row. Marina Mabrey, back from a neck problem, added 12.
