Seven days. That is all that is left of the PGA Tour regular season, and it runs out at the Wyndham Championship in Greensboro from 6 to 9 August. Finish inside the top 70 and you play the postseason. Miss it and your year is over.
Scottie Scheffler sits comfortably at the top of the FedExCup standings. The real drama is happening further down the list. Shane Lowry, stuck at 60th, is not even teeing it up this week, so his fate now rests on other players’ scorecards. Keegan Bradley and Jason Day are both parked right around the cut line and need a serious result.

Cameron Young up against history
Young is back at Sedgefield with a target on his back as the defending champion. Here is the problem. Nobody has won the Wyndham in back-to-back years since Sam Snead pulled it off in 1956.
The field will not hand him anything. Jackson Koivun broke through for his maiden title two weeks ago. Hideki Matsuyama shows up on the back of two straight top-five finishes. Aaron Rai, fresh off winning The Open last month, is hunting another one. Waiting for the winner: $1.53 million and a playoff berth.
LIV rolls back into Bedminster
LIV Golf returns to Trump National Bedminster in New Jersey, its first visit there since 2023. Twenty million dollars goes to whoever takes the individual title, with Jon Rahm leading the season race on the way in. Cameron Smith won the last LIV event staged on that course two years ago. This one should be loud.
