Union SG vs Bodø/Glimt: heavyweight clash with a place in the play-offs on the line 
This is where the serious European business starts for Union Saint-Gilloise and Bodø/Glimt. On Tuesday, the Belgian and Norwegian sides lock horns in the first leg of the Champions League third qualifying round, with the final hurdle to the league phase in their sights.
Both clubs finished runner-up in their domestic leagues last season and head into this continental showdown full of confidence. Union have already kicked off their 2026-27 campaign with the Belgian Super Cup, while Bodø/Glimt arrive on the back of a superb European run last year.

Bodø/Glimt arrive like a steamroller 
The Norwegians are no longer a European surprise package. After missing out on the Eliteserien title by a single point to Viking in 2025, Kjetil Knutsen’s side lit up the last Champions League campaign. Through to the knockout rounds, they pulled off a major shock by knocking out Inter Milan 5-2 on aggregate before falling to Sporting Portugal in the round of 16 after a tense battle.
In the middle of their domestic season, Bodø/Glimt are in blistering form. Top of the table, they have won five straight games without conceding since the winter break, most recently hammering Lillestrøm 4-0.
Driven by the quality of Jens Petter Hauge and the finishing of Ole Blomberg, Bodø/Glimt have the tools to trouble any European defence and will be confident their sharp match rhythm can carry them through.
