Kairat Almaty vs Omonia Nicosie : Kazakhstan champions face a do-or-die night 
Beaten 1-0 in Cyprus in the first leg, Kairat Almaty have to turn things around in front of their own fans if they are to stay in the Champions League. The deficit is small, but the Kazakhs need to be far sharper in attack if they want to reach the third qualifying round.

The Kazakhstan champions have been excellent domestically this season. Top of the league after 20 rounds, they are on a run of six straight league wins and have lost just once in their last 10 matches in all competitions.
At home, Kairat are a nightmare to play against. Unbeaten in their last nine at the Central Stadium, Rafael Urazbakhtin’s side combine discipline with a high tempo that tends to put opponents under the cosh from the first whistle.
The departure of young Dastan Satpayev leaves a gap in attack, but Jorginho and Gual have more than enough quality to make things happen. The Kazakhs simply have to take their chances far more ruthlessly than they did in the first leg if they are to flip the tie.
Omonia will be thinking about control first 
The Cypriots did the job in the opening leg, seeing out their lead to the final whistle. They did not exactly blow Kairat away, but they were composed when it mattered.
Henning Berg, though, has a few headaches. Loic Nego is suspended after his sending-off in the first leg, while Fotis Kitsos and Moses Odubajo are still out. Those absences leave the Norwegian coach a little short on defensive options.
Even so, Omonia have enough know-how for nights like this. The visitors are likely to cede territory and look to strike quickly through Kakoullis, Costa and Tankovic when the gaps open up.
