Warriors vs Dragons: Auckland look to keep their push for the finals on track 
Round 20 in the NRL continues on Saturday with a fixture that looks heavily one-sided on paper. Sitting comfortably in second place, the Warriors host a Dragons side still propping up the table, even if there have been clear signs of improvement in recent weeks.
St George Illawarra are no longer the lost cause they looked at the start of the season, and their latest results suggest a team slowly being rebuilt. But heading to Auckland is a different test altogether against a New Zealand outfit that keeps impressing with its consistency.
Back in front of their own fans, the Warriors have a chance to prove they belong among the title favourites.
The Warriors are moving with real control 
Last week’s win over the Tigers (32-6) summed up everything that has made the Warriors so dangerous this season. Without needing to hit top gear, Andrew Webster’s side slowly took over through defensive discipline and field position.
The New Zealand group looks slick. The forwards keep punching out metres, Wayde Egan sets a sharp tempo around the ruck, and the edge players feed off the space that follows. It’s a simple machine, but it works. The result is a stream of chances nearly every week, which explains why Auckland now boast one of the best attacks in the competition.
The return of James Fisher-Harris has also strengthened an already imposing pack. His leadership and physical presence help the Warriors win the collision battle, while freeing up players like Erin Clark and Leka Halasima to do more damage on the ball.
And then there’s Alofiana Khan-Pereira, who has been in blistering form. The winger has been piling up tries for weeks and is benefiting from a system that keeps putting him in the right place at the right time.

The Dragons are improving, but there are still clear limits 
The Dragons got a bit of confidence back before their bye with a win over the Tigers. That result suggested Dean Young’s work is starting to stick, especially on the defensive side of the ball.
The group looks more organised, tougher in the tackle and better equipped to stay in the fight for 80 minutes. Clint Gutherson is still providing leadership, Damien Cook has added zip out of dummy-half, and the young forward crop continues to develop through the Couchman brothers, Dylan Egan and Loko Pasifiki Tonga.
The return of Moses Suli is another big boost. His power with the ball gives them another way to make ground and takes some of the load off Gutherson and Valentine Holmes coming out of their own end.
Even so, the attacking issues remain. The Dragons are still struggling to turn pressure into tries and often run out of ideas when they get near the opposition line. Against a defence as well-drilled as the Warriors’, every wasted chance could hurt badly.
The Warriors look to have all the answers
This is a team still climbing against one that is improving, but still a fair way off the top NRL sides.
The Dragons should offer more resistance than they did early in the year, but the Warriors have more options across the board. Their physical edge, cleaner execution and efficiency close to the line should end up making the difference.
At home, Auckland look well placed to keep rolling and hold onto their spot among the competition’s heavy hitters.

Alofiana Khan-Pereira is in the best patch of his season right now. Fresh from another double last round, he has become one of the Warriors’ main attacking weapons thanks to his pace and his sharp positioning in the final third.
The Dragons are still finding it hard to defend down their right edge, a channel that has already given up plenty of tries this season. Against a New Zealand side that loves shifting the ball wide, that weakness could be exposed again.
If the Warriors set the tempo as expected, Khan-Pereira should get more than a few inviting looks and have every chance of extending his hot streak with another visit to the try line.
