Argentina vs England : a clash that could already decide who stays in the hunt 
The third round of the Nations Championship finishes with a huge fixture between Argentina and England in Santiago del Estero. Both sides lost on opening weekend, then bounced back a week later, and now they face the same target: bank a second win and keep pace with the frontrunners.
The Pumas have got their swagger back after beating Wales 35-21, while the Red Rose put Fiji to the sword with a ruthless 73-8 demolition. The form is promising on both sides, but this is a different test altogether. The tempo should be far higher, and the home crowd will be right behind the Argentines.

The Pumas want to prove the surge is real 
Argentina responded perfectly after their dramatic defeat to Scotland, 47-38. In San Juan, Felipe Contepomi’s men were in control early against Wales, crossing for four tries before the break. It was the ideal start, and they were able to manage the second half without much trouble.
Their attacking output has been one of the real bright spots so far. Ten tries in two games tells its own story: when Argentina find their rhythm, they can tear gaps open. Oviedo has been especially sharp with three tries already, while Tomas Albornoz has been flawless off the tee.
Still, facing England is a very different proposition. Recent meetings make for grim reading from an Argentine point of view, with the South Americans losing their last three clashes. Back at home, they’ll be desperate to flip that script.
England are finding their feet again 
The heavy loss in South Africa on day one raised a few eyebrows. A week later, England answered in the best possible way. Fiji never got near them, and England ran riot in a 73-8 win, scoring 11 tries.
That result does need a bit of context, though. Fiji spent much of the match down to 14 men, and England picked apart the extra space with ease. Henry Pollock grabbed a hat-trick, while Fin Smith ran the show with calm hands and a sure boot.
The trip to Argentina should be far less comfortable. Santiago del Estero is likely to be a hostile place, and England will need far more discipline than they showed in Johannesburg, where their defence was under pressure far too often. Even so, their big-match experience is a major plus heading into this one.

Both teams come into this one with confidence restored after their second-round wins, but England look to have a slightly stronger squad for this kind of game. For all the damage done by South Africa, the Red Rose showed against Fiji that they can turn it on quickly when space opens up.
Argentina have enough attacking threat to keep this close, especially with the crowd behind them. But the Pumas also showed some defensive cracks against Scotland, conceding seven tries, and that area could be tested again by an England side that is steadily getting back into gear.
The recent head-to-head record also points towards the visitors. England have won their last three against Argentina, including two victories on Argentine soil last year. In what should be a tighter contest than current form suggests, the Red Rose look well placed to leave Santiago del Estero with a valuable win.
