The Toronto Blue Jays are looking to pile on a wobbling Mets side
Toronto may have finally found the spark it had been waiting for over the past few days. By taking the opener of this series 2-1, the Blue Jays snapped a six-game losing streak and got a bit of breathing room back. It was not the sort of win that lives long in the memory for fireworks, but it did remind everyone this team can still grind out tight games.
Across the dugout, the Mets keep sinking. Beaten nine times in their last 10 games, the New York side are struggling to find any sort of rhythm. If they are going to avoid falling behind in the series, they will need a very different showing against Kevin Gausman, while Toronto will be trying to keep the momentum going in front of their own fans.
Toronto Blue Jays : time to find some rhythm at the plate
At 40 wins and 45 defeats, Toronto are still a long way off where they wanted to be at this stage. Even so, Monday’s win could prove to be a starting point. The Blue Jays looked sharper in the key moments, helped by a solid bullpen that shut the door late on.
The bats still left a few questions hanging, though. Just four hits were enough to get the job done, but it is hard to see that being a long-term plan. This lineup should offer much more than it has shown recently, especially at home, where hitters usually settle in quicker.
Kevin Gausman will take the ball with a clear brief: set the tone. Even with a 4,36 ERA, the right-hander still has the tools to keep a shaky New York attack in check. When his splitter is working, he gets weak contact by the bucketload, giving Toronto a chance to stay in control on the scoreboard.
New York Mets : the slide just keeps going
The numbers tell the Mets’ story plainly enough. With just 35 wins and 50 defeats, including a 16-26 record on the road, the franchise is going through one of the roughest patches of its season.
The main issue is the offence. The chances are there, but they are rarely cashed in. The Mets keep getting runners on base without producing the clutch hit, which leaves their pitchers with next to no margin for error.
Nolan McLean will try to stop the bleeding. The young right-hander has alternated promising outings with some much tougher ones. When he loses the strike zone, innings can unravel quickly. Against a Toronto side that will be looking to keep traffic on the bases from the first few innings, every misplaced pitch could be expensive.

MLB Prediction : Toronto Blue Jays vs New York Mets
Toronto Blue Jays to score over 3,5 runs
The series opener delivered only three runs, but this one could play out very differently. Toronto are still capable of far more offensively than they showed on Monday, and the Mets’ current problems set the table nicely for the Canadian bats to wake up.
McLean has talent, but his inconsistency can open the door to a big inning in a hurry. The Blue Jays are at their best when they string together baserunners and force the opposing pitcher to work under pressure.
With Gausman on the mound to limit damage at the other end, Toronto should get enough offensive chances to find their stride. The Blue Jays have the firepower to clear the line set by the bookmakers, especially against a New York side short on belief.

Before anything else, a word on our predictions
- What we publish on mathodds is analysis, nothing more. We are sharing an opinion, a read on the current state of play, but never a guarantee. Sport is still sport: unpredictable. A red card, an injury, a freak goal from nowhere… and the script changes completely.
- Let’s be clear: there is no such thing as a risk-free bet. Even when something looks obvious, it never really is. And yes, that means you can lose. In fact, at some point, that is inevitable.
- The best approach is to stay sensible. Bet small, set a budget and stick to it. Do not touch money you need for everyday life. And above all: do not chase losses, because that rarely ends well.
- A bet should stay a game, not a job or a source of income. If it starts taking up too much of your day, if it is getting under your skin or making you feel pressured, take a break. And if you need to, speak to a specialist organisation. That is what they are there for.
- In the end, responsibility sits with you. Reading our content means accepting that risk exists and will never disappear, even with the best analysis in the world.
- Essential reminder: betting is forbidden for minors and must comply with the law in your country. Gambling can spiral fast (money losses, family tension, addiction). Need Help? Call 1-800-GAMBLER. In the UK? Visit https://www.gambleaware.org/https://www.gambleaware.org/.
No commitment from us
Our predictions are not a contract. They have no legal force. Put simply: you cannot use them to claim anything if a bet does not come in.
Information changes
A prediction is always based on what we know at the time of writing. But in the meantime, a team sheet can change, a player can get injured, the weather can turn… and the analysis can quickly become outdated. We cannot be held responsible for that.
Your role
Before you bet, simply check that betting is legal where you are. If it is not, that is your responsibility, not ours.
