Transfer talk: Ajax move for Ceballos as Real Madrid set the asking price
Ajax have decided to make their move. According to Fabrizio Romano, the Dutch club have opened talks with Real Madrid over a summer deal for Dani Ceballos. The Spanish midfielder is at the top of Michel’s wish list, with the coach personally pushing for the signing and convincing his staff of the player’s qualities. The situation has been on the table since May, and Ajax want this done quickly.
At Real Madrid, the decision has been made: Ceballos will leave this summer despite a contract running until 2027. The club have chosen to move him on because of his limited involvement last season and the tension he had with former coach Alvaro Arbeloa in the dressing room. Madrid had originally put a 8 million euro price tag on him, but talks are progressing well and a deal around 6 million euros is now taking shape between the two clubs.

For Ceballos, this move offers a chance to kickstart a career stalled by injuries and a lack of minutes. At 28, the Spaniard needs a central role in a project if he’s going to matter at the top level again. Ajax and Michel are offering exactly that, with the promise of a major place in the Dutch side next season.
