Sevilla – Real Sociedad : Nervionenses with their backs to the wall against the Basques
Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan is set for a night of real tension on Monday. Sevilla welcome Real Sociedad in a scenario that could hardly feel more grim for the home side. Sitting in the relegation zone, Sevilla simply have to react or risk a historic drop into the second tier. They are two points behind Alaves and can ill afford another wobble. The club is mired in a serious slump and knows this is a brutal assignment. Sevilla fans will be hoping pride still counts for something and drags the team out of trouble.
Sevilla are fighting for their La Liga lives
Things look alarming after five defeats in their last six matches. Under huge pressure, Sevilla also have to cope without suspended Djibril Sow, which weakens the middle of the pitch. For this survival scrap, they will look to Cesar Azpilicueta to bring some order to a defence that is leaking goals far too easily. Their home record is among the worst in the league, a stat that hardly inspires confidence against a Basque side already qualified for Europe. Going forward, Sevilla will lean on Neal Maupay and Isaac Romero to try to crack the visitors open. They know Real Sociedad can play and leave space behind, but Sevilla will need to be ruthless in front of goal. The coaching staff are banking on physicality to make up for the lack of confidence. For Sevilla, every minute here is a fight to stay alive. Lose on Monday night and they would be left in a desperate spot with only four games to go. The home crowd will have a major part to play, acting as the extra man as Sevilla chase a result they badly need. However glorious the club’s history, the reality on the pitch this season has been brutal. Sevilla can make no more mistakes.
Real Sociedad arrive with nothing to fear
Already assured of Europa League football next season thanks to their Copa del Rey success, Real Sociedad head to Seville with far less pressure on their shoulders. Led by an in-form Mikel Oyarzabal, who has 17 goals to his name, the Basque side come into this after a lively draw with Rayo. Even without a few absentees such as Odriozola, Real Sociedad still have far more technical quality than Sevilla. They also won the reverse fixture and will be confident of taking advantage of the hosts’ nerves again.
Expected lineups
Sevilla : Vlachodimos ; Carmona, Castrin, Salas, Suazo ; Sanchez, Gudelj, Agoume, Vargas ; Romero, Maupay
Real Sociedad : Remiro ; Aramburu, Martin, Caleta-Car, Gomez ; Kubo, Turrientes, Soler, Barrenetxea ; Oskarsson, Oyarzabal

Football prediction Sevilla vs Real Sociedad
Real Sociedad win
The gap between the two sides is glaring. Sevilla are full of doubt, unable to bank points at home and weighed down by a shaky defence. The pressure of the relegation battle looks to be paralysing the Andalusians, who now face a Real Sociedad side with little left at stake in the league table.
The Basques’ attacking threat, driven by Oyarzabal and Kubo, should cause Sevilla serious problems. Given the hosts’ dreadful form and the visitors’ clear technical edge, a Real Sociedad victory at Sanchez Pizjuan looks the likeliest outcome to close out this La Liga round.

First, a word on our predictions
- What we publish on mathodds is analysis, nothing more. We share an opinion, a snapshot of the moment, but never a guarantee. Sport is what it is: unpredictable. A red card, an injury, a goal from nowhere… and the script can change in an instant.
- Let’s be clear: there is no risk-free bet. Even when something looks obvious, it never really is. And yes, that means you can lose. In fact, at some point, you probably will.
- The best approach is to stay sensible. Bet small, set a budget and stick to it. Never touch money you need to live on. And above all: do not chase losses, because that usually ends badly.
- A bet should stay a game, not a job or a source of income. If you feel it is taking over, irritating you or putting you under pressure, take a break. And if needed, speak to a specialist organisation. That is what they are there for.
- In the end, responsibility is yours. Reading our content means accepting that risk exists and will always be there, even with the best analysis in the world.
- Essential reminder: betting is illegal for minors and must follow the law in your country. Gambling can quickly get out of hand, leading to money problems, family stress and addiction. Need Help? Call 1-800-GAMBLER. In the UK? Visit https://www.gambleaware.org/https://www.gambleaware.org/.
No commitment from us
Our predictions are not a contract. They have no legal force. In plain terms: you cannot use them to claim anything if a bet loses.
Moving information
A prediction is always based on what we know when it is written. But in the meantime, a team sheet changes, a player gets injured, the weather turns, and the analysis can quickly be out of date. We cannot be held responsible for that.
Your role
Before you bet, simply check that betting is legal where you live. If it is not, that is your responsibility, not ours.
Responsible gambling first
We cannot say it enough: gamble in moderation. If you struggle to stay in control, do not wait to get help. We cannot be responsible for compulsive or excessive use of the information published on the site.
