MLB – Dave Roberts’ sharp touch sparks a Dodgers blast: Muncy and Rojas come close to perfection
Dave Roberts had a hunch right before first pitch. By flipping his sixth and seventh hitters at the last minute, the Dodgers manager set off a full-scale offensive eruption. The result of that tweak? A spotless 7-for-7 between Max Muncy and Miguel Rojas. Muncy was simply untouchable, finishing 4-for-4 with two homers and three runs scored. Over the Colorado series, he’s hitting an outrageous .588. Rojas, meanwhile, stepped out of the shadows with his first homer of the year, playing a huge part in the Rockies’ demolition (12-3).
MLB – A historic 1,000th hit brings an emotional night for Miguel Rojas
Beyond the lopsided win, the night will stick with Miguel Rojas for one very specific reason: his 1,000th career hit. After the game, Rojas was clearly emotional, dedicating the milestone to his family and especially to his father, who died suddenly on April 7. He arrived in the league tagged as a glove-first backup, but he’s shown there’s no ceiling on what he can do by reaching the mark where it all began for him.
MLB – Dalton Rushing keeps racking them up, while Wrobleski owns the hill
If the veterans put on the show, the Dodgers’ young guns were right there too. Dalton Rushing kept his absurd start rolling with two more late blasts. With 7 homers in his first 8 games, he joins a very small club alongside names like Mike Schmidt. On the mound, Justin Wrobleski proved he’s far more than a flash in the pan. After his breakout against the Mets, he went seven more innings and held the Rockies to one run, dropping his ERA to a strong 1.88.
Thanks to that statement win, the Dodgers leave Denver with a series split and a ton of confidence. Between Muncy’s red-hot form, Rojas’ milestone night and Rushing’s rapid rise, the California lineup looks like it has finally hit top gear.
