NRL – Cowboys vs Sea Eagles: can the Cowboys keep it rolling?
Round 7 kicks off in northern Australia with North Queensland taking on Manly. Two sides still rebuilding, both capable of brilliance and both quite capable of a mess… and neither has found any real consistency yet.
The Cowboys win… but it’s not all fixed yet
On paper, the 35-31 win over the Broncos was a lift. In reality, there’s still plenty to sort out.
Going forward, the Cowboys showed plenty. They had punch, tempo, and a real knack for creating chances. When they get the ball, they can hurt teams.
The problem is the other end.
Conceding five tries to a weakened side leaves a mark. Too many missed tackles, too much space given up… and opponents were happy to cash in.
The big picture? A side that can score at any moment, but still can’t quite shut a game down.
The result hides a few cracks. Against a team riding high, that can get expensive fast.
Manly on a fresh run
The Sea Eagles have turned a corner… and you can see it.
Since the interim coach came in, the whole outfit looks different. Less doubt, more energy, and, crucially, results.
The win over the Dragons (28-18) wasn’t perfect, not by a long shot. But it backed up the trend: Manly are finding their confidence again.
In possession, it’s still not all clean. Their spell goes patchy, and the control isn’t quite there.
But the senior players are stepping up. And that matters.
The job now is simple enough: do it for 80 minutes. At the moment, they’re still doing it in bursts.
A game that could swing either way
One side attacks hard but defends badly. The other is growing in belief but still looks brittle.
So, yes, this is wide open.
The battle in the middle will decide plenty. Whoever wins that area should control the pace.
In games like this, confidence often tips the balance. Right now, that edge looks to be with the Cowboys.

NRL Prediction Cowboys vs Sea Eagles
Cowboys to win (including extra time).
North Queensland look steadier when the pressure’s on, and they’ve got more going for them in attack.
Manly are improving, but they’re still too patchy to trust fully.
If the Cowboys clean up their defensive errors, they’ve got enough to get it done.

Before anything else, a word on our tips
- What we publish on Mathodds is analysis, nothing more. We’re sharing an opinion, a read on the moment, but never a guarantee. Sport is still sport: unpredictable. A red card, an injury, a goal from nowhere… and the whole script changes.
- Let’s be clear: there’s no such thing as a risk-free bet. Even when something looks nailed on, it isn’t. And yes, that means you can lose. At some point, you will.
- The smart play is to keep it sensible. Bet small, set a budget and stick to it. Don’t go near money you need to live on. And don’t chase losses — that usually ends badly.
- A bet should stay a bit of fun, not a job or a source of income. If it starts taking over your day, winding you up or putting you under pressure, take a break. And if you need help, speak to a specialist organisation. That’s what they’re there for.
- Bottom line: the responsibility is yours. Reading our content means accepting that risk exists and isn’t going away, no matter how good the analysis is.
- Important reminder: betting is banned for minors and must follow the law in your country. Gambling can spiral fast (money losses, family tension, addiction). Need Help? Call 1-800-GAMBLER. In the UK? Visit https://www.gambleaware.org/https://www.gambleaware.org/.
No commitment from us
Our tips are not a contract. They have no legal force. In plain English: you can’t use them to claim anything if a bet loses.
Things change
A tip is always based on what we know when it’s written. But then a team sheet changes (like the Tigers’ one, for example), a player gets hurt, the weather turns nasty… and the analysis can be out of date pretty quickly. We can’t be held responsible for that.
Your job
Before you bet, check that betting is legal where you are. If it isn’t, that’s on you, not us.
Responsible gambling first
We’ll say it again: bet in moderation. If you’re struggling to stay in control, don’t hang about — get help. We can’t be responsible for compulsive or excessive use of the information published on the site.
Legal age
