Monaco – Marseille: a powder keg at Stade Louis II
AS Monaco (6th) host Olympique de Marseille (3rd) in a crucial battle in the race for the podium and Champions League places. For Monaco and Marseille, the target is plain enough. Blow it in the run-in and it’ll feel like a proper kick in the teeth for either of these heavyweights.
Monaco, a terrifying run
On the Rock, Monaco are simply unstoppable. The club have rattled off six straight league wins, a perfect streak that’s dragged them right back into the picture at the top and well clear of any relegation nonsense. They didn’t buckle under pressure either, turning in another sharp display in a 2-1 win at Lyon last weekend.
Going forward, Monaco are scoring for fun. Their attackers have hit at least two goals in each of their last eight matches. At home, they look untouchable, with four wins on the spin. The plan is obvious: set a vicious tempo from the first whistle and make Marseille crack.
Marseille are out to break the hoodoo away from home
Marseille, meanwhile, arrive in the principality with plenty to prove. They’ve just taken a nasty home defeat to Lille (2-1), and lost their biggest threat, Mason Greenwood, to injury in the process. Now under Habib Beye, Marseille are going through a rough patch that’s starting to put real pressure on their third-place spot.
Away to the division’s big hitters, Marseille have struggled badly. Against teams in the top half, they’ve lost all five of their away games this season. Faced with Monaco’s intensity, they’ll probably need to dig in and take the hits for long spells. But if Marseille can keep the home side in check, they’ve got the firepower to try a late smash-and-grab and make it back-to-back wins over Monaco this year.
Probable line-ups
Monaco : Hradecky ; Zakaria, Faes, Kehrer ; Adingra, Camara, Bamba, Teze ; Akliouche, Golovin ; Balogun
Marseille : Rulli ; Emerson, Balerdi, Medina, Weah ; Kondogbia, Hojbjerg ; Paixao, Timber, Nwaneri ; Gouiri
Football prediction Monaco vs Marseille
Both teams to score
This explosive clash between Monaco and Marseille should be a proper show, with goals written all over it.
Monaco have a vicious home punch and have been racking up goals with almost rude ease. Marseille, though, badly need a response and still have enough attacking quality to hurt anyone on their day. Monaco are the clear favourites on current form, but their defence can still wobble against the bigger sides. Marseille should find a way through and fancy their chances of getting on the scoresheet in a heavyweight scrap.

First, a word on our tips
- What we publish on Mathodds is analysis, nothing more. We give an opinion, a read on the moment, but never a guarantee. Sport is still sport: unpredictable. A red card, an injury, a goal from nowhere… and the whole script changes.
- Let’s be clear: there’s no such thing as a risk-free bet. Even when something looks nailed on, it isn’t. And yes, that means you can lose. At some point, you will.
- Best advice? Keep it sensible. Bet small, set a budget and stick to it. Don’t touch money you need to live. And don’t chase losses — that usually ends badly.
- A bet should stay a bit of fun, not a job or a source of income. If it starts taking over your life, winds you up or puts you under pressure, step away. And if you need to, talk to a specialist support service. That’s what they’re there for.
- In the end, it’s on you. Reading our content means accepting that risk exists and isn’t going anywhere, no matter how good the analysis looks.
- Important reminder: betting is illegal for minors and must follow the law in your country. Gambling can get out of hand fast (money problems, family tension, addiction). Need help? Gamblers Info Service: 09 74 75 13 13 (non-surcharged call) https://www.gambleaware.org/.
No obligation from us
Our tips are not a contract. They have no legal force. Plainly put: you can’t use them to claim anything if a bet fails.
Information changes
A prediction is always based on what we know when it’s written. But by the time you read it, the team news may have shifted, a player may be injured, the weather may have turned… and the analysis can be out of date in a hurry. We can’t be held responsible for that.
Your job
Before you place a bet, check that betting is legal where you are. If it isn’t, that’s your problem, not ours.
Responsible gambling first
We can’t say it enough: gamble in moderation. If you’re struggling to stay in control, don’t wait to get help. We can’t be responsible for compulsive or excessive use of the information published on the site.
