NRL – Titans vs Broncos: are the Broncos rolling? 
It’s off to the Gold Coast for a match that looks pretty straightforward at first glance… but could turn awkward in a hurry. The Titans have finally got off the mark, while the Broncos are stacking wins and finding some zip again. Two teams heading in opposite directions, both desperate to back it up.
The Titans are still too hit-and-miss 
The 22-14 win over the Dragons gave the Titans a bit of breathing space. But if you scratch beneath the surface, there are still plenty of questions.
They started well, with a pack capable of winning metres and laying the platform. From there, the attack settled into a few fairly plain patterns, with enough decent links to create some danger.
But, as so often, they couldn’t pull clear. They never killed the game off and kept their opponents alive right to the end.
Defensively, there’s been some improvement in patches, especially early on. But once the pace lifts, the structure starts to wobble. The edges are still vulnerable and fatigue only makes the mistakes worse.
The big issue is consistency. A lack of accuracy, loose decisions at the end of the chain — the Titans are still handing out far too many chances.
The Broncos are finding themselves again 
The Broncos, by contrast, are clearly building. Their 26-12 win over the Dolphins backed up what now looks like a proper return to basics.
The pack got back on top. Power, control of the tempo, territorial pressure: Brisbane set the tone and never really looked rattled.
Going forward, it wasn’t flashy, but it was tidy. They build, they repeat, they squeeze… then strike at the right moment. Simple stuff. Horribly effective.
The real edge is in defence. More disciplined, better organised, the Broncos are giving up far less space than they were earlier in the season.
With their systems clicking and their senior players in form, Brisbane are becoming a tough side to drag out of shape.
A match that could catch fire
On paper, the Broncos look to hold all the cards. If they own the middle, they should control the tempo and slowly squeeze the life out of the Titans’ defence.
But don’t write the home side off. The Titans are playing with a bit of freedom and they’ve got enough in them to answer back, especially if this opens up.
This could quickly turn into a fast, loose battle with space on both sides.
