Brest vs Rennes: the Breton derby of redemption at Francis-Le Blé 
This Saturday, Stade Francis-Le Blé hosts a proper scrap between regional neighbours. Brest, 11th, welcome Rennes, 7th, in a Brittany derby that should bite hard. Both sides come back from a useful international break, time to reset after a nasty spell in the league.
Brest are feeling seasick 
Survival is pretty much in the bag and the drop zone is no longer breathing down their neck, but Brest’s form is a worry. Eric Roy’s men have lost two on the bounce, including a grim 3-0 thumping at lowly Auxerre, where they somehow managed to sink despite playing with an extra man!
The European dream is dead and buried for now. At the moment, it’s more pain than pleasure on the west coast. Still, home comforts should help. Brest have turned their ground into a proper fortress, with six wins and five clean sheets in their last seven home games. They’ll need that steel again if they want to steady themselves and kick on.
Rennes, the road specialists 
Over in the Rennes camp, Franck Haise’s side have also hit the brakes hard. Dumped out of the top six after a loss to Lille and a limp draw with Metz, the Red and Blacks need a response. Oddly enough, though, they’ve been at their best away from Roazhon Park this season.
On their last two trips, they’ve been flat-out cheeky, racking up a brutal 7-0 aggregate scoreline against the hosts. They can sit back when under pressure, then spring forward and nick a game with a slick counter. This lot know when to strike. The job here is simple enough: turn this derby into a fight early, then land the goals needed to make it two wins from two against their Breton rivals this season.
