Porto – Stuttgart: Dragons set on finishing the job
Sitting on a precious 2-1 away lead, Porto host a Stuttgart side that refuse to throw in the towel. The Germans will throw everything at this tie and hope to snatch a quarter-final spot.
Porto ruthless at home
Last week in Germany Farioli’s men struck early and hard. Two goals in seven minutes from Terem Moffi and Rodrigo Mora put Porto comfortably in control. They’re flying in the league too — top of the Primeira Liga after a 3-0 hammering of Moreirense on Sunday — and confidence oozes through the squad.
The home ground is a near-fortress: just one defeat in their last 21 home games. Still, don’t start celebrating too early. Porto were burned in 2019 by Krasnodar after winning away first; those ghosts linger. Expect periods where Porto have to grind and defend deep against a desperate German onslaught, but this side’s defensive steel on the continental stage has been obvious all season.
Stuttgart dreaming of another heist
VfB still believe. Far from floundering in the Bundesliga, they sit a tidy fourth — boosted this weekend by a vital 1-0 win over RB Leipzig courtesy of Denis Undav. They showed character in the first leg too, surviving a frantic opening and keeping their hopes alive.
If there’s one thing Stuttgart do well, it’s travel. They pulled off a famous 4-1 raid at Celtic in the previous round and score freely on the road. They’ve netted at least twice in 10 of their last 13 away matches. They’ll come to Portugal looking to set the game alight and reach a European quarter-final for the first time since 1989.
Probable lineups
FC Porto : D Costa ; A Costa, Bednarek, Kiwior, Zaidu ; Fofana, Rosario, Veiga ; Sainz, Moffi, Gomes

Football Predictions FC Porto vs VfB Stuttgart
Porto to win or draw
Stuttgart must chase the tie, which will open the game up. The Germans have shown they can score plenty away from home.
But this Porto side at the Dragão is a grinder. Solid at the back, lethal on quick breaks, they’ll punish any space Stuttgart give them. It’s hard to see the Dragons losing at home; at worst they should nick a draw and close out qualification.

First, a word on our predictions
- What we publish on Mathodds are analyses and opinions, not guarantees. Sport is wildly unpredictable. A red card, an injury, a freak goal — anything can flip the script.
- Let’s be blunt: every bet carries risk. Even when something looks ‘obvious’, it isn’t. You can lose. You will lose sometimes.
- Be sensible. Stake small, set a budget and stick to it. Don’t touch money you need to live on. Don’t chase losses — it rarely ends well.
- Betting should be entertainment, not a job or income source. If it’s taking over your life or stressing you out, step away. Talk to a specialist service if you need to. That’s what they’re for.
- Responsibility sits with you. Reading our content means you accept risk exists and always will, no matter how good the analysis.
